The first finding of noble spinel in the Svetlinskoye deposit of rhinestone (the South Urals)

There are results of investigations of noble spinel from deposits of rhinestone that occurs in metamorphic metapelites. This is the first discovery of spinel in this field. Forsterite, talc, serpentine, chlorite, graphite, and monazite are marked in association with spinel. Mineral associations of noble spinel in Svetlinsky deposit are the same as in marbles. Likely time of spinel formation is an early stage of regressive metamorphism (C2 and P1).
