The condition of rock strength pdf

Zhabko A. V.

In this paper on the basis of earlier research author proposes the criterion for fracture of solids (rocks). There are methodological foundations of its receipt with brief theoretical calculations. Its analysis and interpretation of the results are produce. Author analyzes the value of the angle of inclination of the most dangerous area in the cut-off limit equilibrium for different levels of stress. It is shown that the value of this angle is not constant, but it depends on the values of limiting components of the principal stresses. There were reviewed particular cases of the proposed criteria for the perfect loose and perfectly connected areas. It is pointed to the fundamental difference between Mohr and Coulomb criterions. It is specified the benefits of the proposed criterion to known analogy when it is used as the yield of surface (plastic potential). There is physical interpretation of the phenomenon of dilatancy at the fracture of solids.

Keywords: failure criterion; equilibrium conditions; differential equation; principal stresses; angle pad bearings; Coulomb criterion; criterion of morality; associated law of plastic flow; dilatancy coefficient; plastic deformation.
